Welcome to the Borough of Delaware Water Gap, an Appalachian Trail community. We happily welcome you and your family to hike the trail. Adventure awaits you along this beautiful trail with views of the river, Lake Lenape and a crisp brook that runs down the mountain.
We have a convenient park and ride lot located in our borough to help get you on your way hassle free. The lot can also be used to access the trail on the New Jersey side. There are clearly marked signs to guide you to the trail. From the park and ride travel down Broad Street, when you arrive at the traffic light turn left onto Main Street. Follow Main Street to Mountain Road where you will make left. The trail head is just up ahead on your left.
While in town be sure to stop and enjoy some delicious food at one of our restaurants or stroll through the museum or art gallery. We have local shops and an outdoor outfitter. Don’t want to hike the trail that’s ok! How about kayaking, canoeing, or rafting. We have it all right here in beautiful Delaware Water Gap.
We hope your hike will be a great adventure. Please stay on the trails to protect the rare plants and ecosystem and please carry out what you carried in. Leave no Trace.
